School cycling season kicks off with Monitor Nationals in Colorado this week

Colorado Springs, Colo. (September 17, 2013) – The 2013/2014 collegiate cycling time of year will kick off this week as student-athletes from around the nation converge within the Colorado Springs Velodrome in southern Co for the 2013 USA Cycling School Track National Championships.

Eighteen national game titles will be on the line, including the coveted Division I and II team omniums which Marian University and the Ma Institute of Technology will trip in fierce defense of.

With last year’s female omnium winner Colleen Hayduk (Kutztown University of Pennsylvania) no longer in the collegiate ranks, spectators should look out for riders such like Jessica Prinner (Midwestern State University), Mandy Marquardt (Penn State-Lehigh Valley), and Christa Ghent (University associated with Colorado – Boulder).
Marian University’s Colton Barrett will be one of the men to watch since he’ll race with the goal associated with collecting a second straight individual omnium title. He’ll be up against track strongmen like Colt Peterson (University associated with Colorado-Boulder) and He Baranoski (Penn State).

On-line registration is closed, but if you are planning to race and haven’t registered yet, you can register onsite. Onsite registration must occur the day BEFORE your desired event as there will be NO DAY-OF REGISTRATION. The cost of onsite registration is $70 per occasion. For team events, the cost can be $70 per person per occasion. In addition to registration fees, riders must be prepared to pay the $20 track usage fee upon arrival in the velodrome.
